So, I don't know how the rest of the blog reading population feels about the topic of Chiropractic- but I'm a BELIEVER!!! I've been visiting a Chiropractor on and off (apparently not the type of schedule suggested) since I got pregnant with Preston. Because I carried him so low, my back was in constant pain. Anyway, I saw one who was in my Cigna network so I only had a small co-pay. But he has the personality of a wet noodle and explained absolutely NOTHING to me. I guess he helped relieve the pain . . . but I was pg, so I assumed returning discomfort was to be expected.
Anyway, returning and chronic discomfort is a part of my day now it seems. But the bigger issue is my arthritis- that is progressing at a very noticeable rate. After discussing this concern with my Rheumotologist, I will be on medication as soon as I finish nursing and will probably be taking those extreme meds for the rest of my life to manage the joint pain and swelling. Tennis is a "no" for me anymore and the thought of hobbling to my kids ball games & graduations is truly scary. However . . . . I found a little hope!
A friend of Michael's has opened a brand new and VERY state of the art Chiropractic office less than one mile from my house and after seeing him just three times he has me believing that in six months, I will notice a HUGE difference in my arthritic stiffness & pain levels. And will be so sure of my progress that I'll be playing ALTA next Spring. He is honest about the fact that I have a condition that is in my blood and cannot be cured, but can be treated without medication! That is what gives me hope, because knowing that I will be on a strong dose of antibiotic or steroid for the next 50+ years makes me believe that this is not how God designed the body to work! He created every bone to work with every muscle fueled by every blood vessel and cell. And when all of those things are in their proper place . . . we are at our healthiest. I could not even begin to explain the amazing technique he demonstrated on my 'bad' knee, that as he did it, my jaw fell open. I could not believe what was happening- and I didn't feel a thing, but I walked-STRAIGHT LEGGED- out of that office!
And he was telling me stories about babies he has treated for colic! Yes, keep that in mind. And his passion is so huge for what chiropractic can do for children, especially the healthy ones, to help them stay that way and never subject themselves to the things we as adults come to expect with old age, like diabetes, sinus trouble, bad menstral cramps. Anyway, enough with the boring blog . . . but I could preach on this. So if you care, just ask me!

I'm so glad you've found relief and it is helping you. I'm sad that tennis is a no-no for you but I don't want you to be hobbling around in a few years.
I started going to the chiropractor (the Witch Doctor, as she is affectionately called!) after I lost Emmie because the pregnancy had left me totally numb from the hip to my knee. I have been going ever since, and I am a believer as well! If you want some really amazing testimonies, talk to my sister in law Kari! So glad you are finding some relief through an alternate route!
