Here we go again!
If you step into our house Wednesday of this week (or Thurs, or Friday) you will most likely be greeted by a naked 2 year old and a if you even step foot near the potty while you're here you will probably get a marshmallow!
I'm trying potty training tactics from the book (a 1976 edition) Potty Training in Less Than One Day. My thought, "Yeah right. Ask me tomorrow night if the title is true". But I'm all prayed up and wouldn't mind a few more from my faithful supporters!

Maybe the failed attempt (s) over the past couple of months has not only been my strong willed daughter, but her mother who is desperately clinging to what's left her her baby girl. I can hardly stand it that I'll be dropping her off in a preschool lane next month, so the willingness to quit training was my fault. I know it's time, I know it has to be done sooner or later . . . but big girl pants means a whole new world of independence for my little lady. wow, who would have thought the bare necessity of potty time would bring such emotion from me.

You gotta let me know how this goes. If it works, I'll just send L to your house!
She'll get it...when she is ready.
For Sarah, I let her walk around with no bottoms on for a week and finally she got tired of peeing on herself..she was almost 2.
For Luke, I tried the same at almost 2, but he didnt care being messy, so that didnt work for him. It took a few months later, and he told me he wanted to go to the potty, I let him, and he was in underwear from then on.....
It really is up to the kid...they'll go when they get comfortable.
Does she have to be potty trained for school? Some require that by a certain age, but I wouldn't think by 2 they'd HAVE to be?
Good Luck. It can be frustrating, but in the end, aren't we all potty trained eventually ( that is what I always told myself!)?
She'll figure it out! :)
Michael looks like Brian in the picture. Brian would always read books to the kids on the potty too!
Let me know what really works....I probably won't be terribly far behind you! I figure I really need to get through the brand new baby phase before I can really attempt the potty with Molly!
Hey Kristen. It does depend on the child, I think. Our oldest, Kenna, was SO EASY! We tried the weekend after she turned 2 and it only took ONE day! We put her in a dress with no undies and she only had 3 accidents! However, she is so "girly" and does not like messes so it really freaked her out when she had an accident. Now, we visit EVERY bathroom in EVERY store!!! ;) Sometimes I think God allowed Kenna to be "easy" b/c we had THREE in diapers!!! ;)
Then, you have our twin girls, Kamryn & Kloey...well,
we tried about a month ago and they are NOT ready. They turned 2 in March. I tried the same thing...no undies, setting the timer, taking them every 30 mintues, rewards (skittles), but they could have cared less! So, I stopped! I don't know when I'll try again...I'm not in any hurry. I will say at our girls' preschool you don't have to be potty trained until age 3. I don't know if this was encouragement for you or not...hope so. And, love the pic! So cute! What a great Dad!
keep your chin up girlie. She'll get it.
can't wait for an update on Thursday night!
