Fancy Nancy in France

Wanna live vicariously through another right now? That's what I do sometimes, as I watch the stories & photos unfold from Nancy (my 30 year old, artist, free bird, engaged to be married to a rock star, NY living sister). She sounds exactly like me, huh?

Well on past journeys to Europe I waited anxiously for those email/journals to come across. they were fascinating, frightening, hysterical and so much fun to imagine. Her stories from life as a single girl in NY (with the parties & shows with her fiancee) have been thrilling to a stay at home mom like myself. Some of my favorites have been her tales from backstage at Letterman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GlHKl9S70o & Conan . Well sister, you just let me know when you're backstage at Regis & Kelly and I'M SO THERE! This girl (groupie & backdrop/merchandise designer to her fiance's band Nicole Atkins & the Sea) posted pics on her blog of the Casino Hotel Suite that they got by accident last weekend in Atlantic City, and the party that they were paid to attend- just to show up- must be nice to have celebrity status every now and then.

Anyway, she is now painting Plein-air (outside) on the beaches of Normandy, France while she stays in this quaint little CASTLE.

She won this trip as an award for her stellar work upon graduation from the New York Academy of Art in May (only 3 were chosen). Yes, I'm bragging, because I've mentioned before that I can't even write my name straight, yet she can capture life & imagination on canvas! Amazing.

I'm just rambling here because she left on Sunday, we usually talk on the phone at least twice a day and I haven't even gotten one email from her. She must be enjoying herself tremendously or that this 400 year old castle does not have the Internet . . . So Nancy, if you're reading, send us some stories or pics! We can't wait to live your journey with you.

Woo-Hoo!!! Let me hear more about this-- and about the Rock Star, too! My first cousin is also a musician in Brooklyn, NY. An exciting life, for sure!!

Wow! I'm always amazed at the cool things she does. I absolutely love the picture of Fancy and Leah at the easel together.
