Leah's Big Day

Today was Leah's first day of school . . . with me there. But she didn't need me at all. She made herself comfortable at the play dough table for the first 40 minutes and would look up to search the room for me every 10 minutes or so. Her teachers are sweet and became fast friends when they passed out animal crackers- Leah's favorite!

Miss Heather, or as Leah calls her "feather"

Thursday, she will stay there all morning without me. Or I guess I should say, I have to leave . . . without her. She certainly looked like a big girl, discovering her pre-school and new friends all on her own. We said a prayer this morning before we got out of the car and apparently I was taking too long because she interrupted me with "AMEN let's go!".

So here she goes . . . on with the next 16 years of her life in school.

I know, once they start school it will be their routine for YEARS!

She looks very cute on her first day :).

I love how she lined up all the animals...that is SO something Sarah used to do..line up everything - toys, dolls, shoes, books...you name it. She is still a neat freak.

oh sweet Leah! it is hard to believe she is old enough for preschool!!!

you will love your time alone with Preston. that is important for him .. as much as interacting with other kids will be important for Leah.

You'll appreciate her more everyday when you go and pick her up. I love my kids in school b/c I look FORWARD to the pick ups in the afternoon. Makes me realize that my life is more full with them in it!

Absolutely precious! I love the prayer story- she is going to do great and so are you!
