Spring Break?

So, it's time for Spring Break . . . ahhhh, just the sound of it conjures up memories and feelings from school days- a break, a trip with friends, summer is closing in . . . good times indeed!

So now, with a three year old in Preschool, who only goes two days a week- do I need a break? No, I've been on two trips in the last 5 weeks. Is it even really spring? Rainy & cold, everything is wet & green- Yup, it's SPRING!

So pull out your swim suits for a 65 degree sunbathing stunt, with your pasty white skin & 50 SPF! Chill bumps on cold sand . . . PERFECT! I'm headed to St Simons with my parents and the kiddos (poor Michael says sales reps don't get Spring Break- and he needs one badly).

What this much anticipated spring ritual really signifies to me is that EASTER IS COMING!
I love Easter! I love pale colors, and chocolate bunnies and choir anthems and the smell of lilies and baby chicks on glittery Easter cards, and plastic eggs under every piece of furniture in my house. It all means one thing . . .
I'm Forgiven!

I know it means this all the time, every day, all year

but when the Easter bonnets & white shoes come out,
my heart does this little jump!
I remember the feeling when I felt it first . . .
I was a child it was Easter
and I saw Jesus as more than a Sunday School character on the felt board . . .
He was Mine, and I was his and He knew me by name and had plans and a purpose for my life and even as a 9 year old at Chamblee Baptist,
I knew there were plenty of mistakes to be made . . . But I knew I was forgiven!

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself and became obedient to death--
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:5-11

Have a blessed Spring Break and watch for miracles -

Jesus is ALIVE!
