this is a nonsense kind of blog, but aren't they all, really! So enjoy if you're bored :)
If you read one of my first blogs, way back in May, it was about the disappointing trip to Northpoint mall when we discovered that the carousel was gone . . . . well, it's back and more beautiful than ever. In fact the food court is gorgeous, clean, and almost lounge-like with kid sized tables (what took so long on that brilliant idea?). So that's the GOOD
BAD?- the germ infested, ill-behaved, toddler town that is overrun with big kids. In case there are parents who simply cannot read, or refuse to, I will be happy to stand outside the dangerous play zone and personally measure each child so as not to allow any more 10 year olds into the space designed for crawlers & little people who don't know to watch out for jumping tweeners. Leah almost lost her head and I almost lost my temper . . . so we had to leave. FYI, I think you're supposed to be like 3 and under . . . not 13-pass it on!
Wanna know what's ridiculous? Me, thinking that I could possibly pull off or even fit into anything in the FOREVER 21 store! If I ignore the past 12 years and the 2 children who gave me these 33 year old hips, then possibly, I could wear their skinny jeans and peasant tops and XS Tees. So why did I think that the white top I bought last week would a) even fit me or b) look remotely decent? I didn't try it on there (who ever has time for that?) so I brought it home- just as suspected, it doesn't quite do justice to this forever flabby waistline. So I went to return it today but find out that you can only get STORE CREDIT! Well, that's helpful- NOT! This is possibly the only store in America that will not refund, within 10 days & with a receipt. Just thought you all should know- we're NOT 21 forever so don't even bother!
Over all, a fun day at the mall with my kiddos. School stuff is out already (holy cow) and soon there will mistletoe hanging from the rafters at Northpoint. Is time FLYING for anyone else?

I totally hear you, sister, on all points. L and I were @ NP two weeks ago with my cuz and luuvvved the new food court but L was such a trooper walking in so many stores with us and of course we ended up at the playland so that won out over the carousel. Big kids jumping all over the place! But unlike how Leah almost loses her head, Elle just joins in. She is so easily influenced. The ridiculous is me thinking the bikinis in Gap would look good. At least I could fit in it since there wasn't really that much to fit into.
Don't be afraid to discipline other people's children if they refuse to do it. I have on several occasions. In fact I did it today when a kid purposely hit Hollis in the face with a ball.
Amen girl! Parents who let their giant kids in the play area drive me CRAZY! And supposedly they are watching the area closely with security.....um, I don't think so! I haven't gone in so long because it bugs me so much! Glad to hear about the food court though! And don't even get me started on things I can't fit into anymore....
oooh i need to check out the new food court..sounds great.
the mention of mistletoe hanging from the rafters just caused me to have a mini panic attack! I'm having alot of those lately. Time is FLYING!!!!!
HA! Yep-- I left 21 in the dark a while back, and truth be told-- I wouldn't trade now for then for a million bucks! Baby body and all!! Also, the toddler town play places in malls these days are NASTY and FULL of BIG kids in NC, too! When ours first opened, it was a cool concept, but a lot of parents seemed to think it was free right to leave their kids while they read, chatted with a buddy, or worse-- walked off!! We finally had to quit going!
