just one last bit of summer . . . .

I am so ready to pull out my long sleeved tees

and stand on my back porch to see my breath in the cool of morning

and I LOVE ME SOME FOOTBALL when it's chilly enough to pull on a sweatshirt in the 4th quarter. And pumpkins on the porch, beautiful trees in my yard and inspiration from the Fall Southern Livings and great new TV shows . . . . . . .

but just give me one last bit of summer

where I can walk the beach by myself or with a good girlfriend

and eat my breakfast while staring at the ocean and lay in sand right on through lunch if I want to. And one last chance at a suntan where I can read a book- the whole thing- and eat snack foods without sharing every bite! And bring on the girltalk, all of it, no editing or spelling out words or quick carpool line conversations, but deep discussion until late in the evening. Some time where I can miss my children and truly appreciate my husband. I can't wait to spend this kind of time with my girlfriends this weekend at the beach. And I simply can't thank my sweet husband enough for helping me to go.

What a life!
