Simple Things . . .

I've come to appreciate quite a few things that are surprisingly considered an "inconvenience" to my generation while they were just a way of life in Southern tradition to folks like My Katie Nell (See 2 previous posts for more on her).

For example:

I am enjoying a piece of home made Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie- not for any real occasion but because I had all of the ingredients and they needed to be used. But what a nice treat for the middle of the week!

So I thought about how a "good stay at home mom" probably bakes fresh desserts to go with every home cooked meal, every night of the week . . . and these fictitious legends, like June Cleaver, wear pretty aprons to cover their clothes and probably do things like use china cups for their morning coffee and have neighborhood ladies over for more than just play dates withe the kids, but actual sit-down-together-&-talk time (aka, gossip). And use cloth napkins not just for decoration . . . but every day, even Thursday's PB&J lunch (Environmentally friendly even before it was cool to go green) and I bet they grow their own salad in their backyard . . .

Since, I enjoyed my homemade pie so much, and Leah & Michael are taking care of the home grown produce . . .

I'm going to use my china today, for lunch! I bet it even make microwave meals or mac-n-cheese taste better! Back to the simple things of life . . . . enjoy them all!
